Sheilis held her close as she wept, for once not feeling awkward for being unable to stop her tears.  Thy were needed, she had found out a lot, and what she had thought she knew of this world proved only to be a very small part.  She also learned a lot that brought many more questions then answers, and the only way to find answers now was to continue.

He listened to Rael and nodded slightly, he had experienced being one of those 'others'that he spoke of.  He had awoken in his family's tomb.  Surrounded by the dead had been unerving, but he had been more determined to find out what had happened that landed him there.  He found his family still alive, but he had been dead for quite a few years, and his family welcomed him back only cause he represented a chance to secure a marriage to another family to secure power and solidify their position in the royal court.  He refused of course, he had more pressing things on his mind then marriage, and was disowned not that it bothered him much.  He had disowned his own family except for his sister in his other life, and he found she had existed here as well, but he had no idea what happened to her as she had been banished from the family by their father.

He spoke, "we wait to leave, we would be noticed if we left now.  I have paid for a few more days here, but we will leave at midnight tonight.  The Inn is silent then except for the bar, but we can easily avoid it so as not to be noticed.  If anyone were to come looking for us, the innkeeper will be only able to tell them the room we rented, and that we are still here as far as he would know."

He gently guided Nia back towards the bed, "I suggest we rest up, cause we will have to move at a quick pace to put some distance between us and this town. "

Shelis made other plans in his mind, organizing them so when it was time to execute he could explain them effienciently.  While they would be leave, Rael would stay with Lie'Annia, visible, while Sheilis would be slightly seperated and fairly invisible.  He would snag supplies as he could as they went knowing they would need some to make it to the next town.  He made another mental caculation and knew he had enough in his coin purse to get more supplies at the next town, but it would be tight, but he had a few connections, that might get them further then the coin.

Rael nods, "Understood. But we must leave no later than midnight." Something about the situation still bothered the ex-rube. Just days ago when he first came here the guard was noticably heavier. There's no way that they would have allowed such a scene to play out, not here in the captial city. At the very least, they'd be dodging the guard now. But that was not the case. It seemed that ever since the death of King Ian, the guard was not as present as it once was. It was like the city, if not the empire, was busy. And Rael did not wish to see why they were busy.

Rael bows his head, "Rest well Princess." He then turns to Sheilis, "Allow me to keep watch. This body does well to recover as long as I have the sun to my back. You haven't such a benefit and you need your strength."

Rael bows and goes back to keeping watch...

Nia cried herself out to the point she didn't protest as Sheilis nudged her towards the bed. Half collapsing, she listened to the exchange between the men.

Sitting back up, she wiped the heel of her hand across her eyes. "I should take watch. You two have done shifts tonight." Part of her was aware she wasn't a Princess, much less a Queen anymore. She needed to pull her weight. And needed to see to it that the guys didn't carry her.

Another part of her was exhausted. From waking too soon… to the violent end of the interrogation… to discovering all she learned in just the last quarter of an hour. It was all too much. And with a couple hours, still, till they had to go, Lie'Ania felt caught between wanting to crawl in a hole and cry, and wanting to take off now and go till she collapsed.

Sheilis hesitated a moment,  then nodded his head. "Very well, but stay inside the room with sunrise more guests mill about as does inn staff.  The less notice we draw to ourselves the better."
He wasn't concerned about the low amount of guards,  having lived through political unrest in the dream world He knew they would be more focused towards the official buildings as people tried to seize power with the king now dead.

He smiled faintly at his Lady's words, "you may be no queen in this life, but you are my lady and my charge.   For now we rest as tonight there will not be much chance to rest soon again." he leaned forward touching his forhead to hers for a moment in comfort then put actions to his words settling down on the floor, his back against the foot of the bed.

He focused back on Rael, his kind going over scenarios.  He was rusty working with more then just himself, and he said, "if we aren't awake as the sun sets, wake us.  We will get super and leave soon after.  It will He easy enough to get lost in the crowds milling about as they head home or to the taverns."

Rael nods. He was glad that Sheilis agreed. He was also somewhat smiling at the elf queen's desire to be a part of the team and take her turn at the watch. Luckily, Rael didn't have to say no, for he could see the wariness on her, and her body guard surely would not allow it anyways.

He took a chair and placed it by the window, allowing whatever sunlight that would filter in to bath over him. The light was invigorating, a bonus to this new body of his, but still Rael also knew that he had to give his mind a chance to recover as well. So Rael slowed his breathing and allowed himself into a meditative state. This would allow him to relax and process the thoughts swarming within his mind, while allowing him to also be aware of anyone or anything coming into the room. It was a technique he learned, in a past life...

How different this life was for the former Rube. No longer was he a part of a collective mindset, a stalwart defender of a church built on evil serving a dark god. Now he was serving the Queen of the Elves. While true she was no queen here, Lie'Ania was the queen he knew. He never understood why Taal trusted him with the mission to deliver Lie'Ania safely to her husband. All that he knew was that he died trying to do so back then, but this time he would succeed. He would see his mission complete. And then he would beg for the lord elf's forgiveness and place his fate in Tannhauser's hands.. Though Rael had no love for Zodo, he was a rube knight, and therefore not innocent.

The hall outside wasn't ever really busy. Mainly just the inn staff, maybe a guest or three. None came to the room during the day, which didn't surprise Rael. Cowards would wait to attack at night, and Rael hoped that they would be gone by then. When the sunlight no longer reached him, Rael got up, went over to Sheilis and Lie'Ania, and gently woke them. "Come, the sun takes its slumber."

LieAnia's dreams had haunted her, as they often had of late. Tann was banging on a wall placed between them. She could see through it, but not reach him. With no door and no way to hear him, she banged her hands on it along with him till she was sore and woke up in tears and so full of frustration she was more tired, most times, than when she had gone to sleep. This evening was no different. She rubbed her eyes and sat up with a monosyllabic moan that let Sheilas know she was awake.

Silence was all she offered as she got cleaned up in the water basin in the room and changed into relatively cleaner clothes. It wasn't much, but it helped clear the cobwebs of the nightmare from her head. She remained oddly silent as they went about packing things up and getting ready to leave. It took a second washing of her face to erase the majority of the tell tale signs of her weeping. No point in heading out with two men and tear streaks on her face. Red, sleep strained eyes she couldn't change, but looking down and not stopping to chat with anyone would cover that aspect. She just wanted to go. Something told her Tann was out there now. And the dreams, getting stronger and more vivid, made her thoughts on the matter solidify.

Sheila's opened his eyes at Rael's voice and heard LieAnia's acknowledgement.  Dreams and nightmares didn't phase him anymore,  nightmares or otherwise.  Nightmares had haunted him in the dream world, and now memories and other nightmares followed him in this one.

He glanced at LieAnia assuring himself she was real and not a figment of his imagination. He shook his head slightly and quickly fastened his shield on his back again.

He checked his coin purse at his waist, it had enough in it for a good meal.  He lead his lady and Rael to the dining hall/tavern that was downstairs in the inn selecting a table that was off to the side.  A tavern wench came to the table "stew or roast?"

"Both," Sheila's replied.  What they didn't eat of the roast they could pack with them and eat on the road.

Rael positioned himself at the table so that LieAnia was between him and Sheilis. He let the elf guard order, choosing to keep quiet and keep watch. When the wench walked away with their order, Rael leaned over, "We should not linger." He sat back up, and protested no further. Food was needed, Rael knew this, for the travel would be long.

It wasn't long before the wench brought the food back. Setting them down, she gave a quick curtsies before quickly going to tend to a loud, boisterous man who wanted more ale, despite clearly already have had enough. Rael cuts a bit of the roast off and begins to chew on it when an old man, decrepit and likely ill by the looks of it, leans against their table. None of the other guests seem bothered by the man's presence, likely ignoring him altogether.

The old man looks pointedly at Sheilis, "Would you be so kind, as to buy me a bowl?" Rael watches the man carefully. There was something odd about the man, he thought, but it could just be his own nerves. Saying nothing, Rael chews on his meat and watches him, and Sheilis.

Sheilis gave a short nod to the wench as she rushed off, his eyes traveling over to the loud man who clearly needed to be thrown out on his ear instead of given another mug of ale.  He quickly set into eating his stew, his eyes traveling over the room taking note of where people were standing, who was leaving, who was coming in and in the back of his mind also the ticking of a clock letting him know that time was running short to elave.

Sheilis spotted the old man as he made his way to their table, though it looked like he was meandering, Sheilis saw he walked with a purpose towards him and Sheilis's left hand dropped down for a moment feeling the hilt of the knife in his boot before he forced it back up to where it could be seen.

At the old man's pointed look and request, Sheilis said nothing except slid his bowl over to the old man and cut off a piece of roast.  Money was something he didn't have a lot of, but he wouldn't refuse the old man a meal.  He glanced over at Rael arching an eyebrow in reference to his opinion on the old man, before glancing at LieAnnia.

He focused back on the old man, something felt strange but not threatening, he peered closer at the old man.  "We have meet before?" he commented, it sounding like a question but something told him he knew this old man, from where he did not know.

Nia followed the men downstairs and settled easily between them. A lifetime of muscle memory helped her where conscious thought failed. As Shellis ordered, she glanced around as well.

When Rael said they shouldn't dally, the elf nodded her head. "I agree... to many people in here," she said as she shivered slightly. She wasn't cold, but the press of people in the small tavern was enough to send a chill down her spine.

She jumped slightly as the old man begged for some supper. When the Shard handed him his bowl, she handed him her spoon smiling. "We can share." She tried to be cordial, but a shiver of another kind shimmied down her spine. Her student messengers to Shellis would mean he'd feel it too.
