Materials

Materials are the building blocks needed to construct your own goods. Combine them with the know how, the right set of instructions and tools needed and you could create any item, weapon, or armor you would ever need. You can also use these materials to improve your already existing goods or to know the value of materials so that you can sell any that you find on your travels. You can also purchase materials here that are not supplied by the weapon or armor smith and have them use these materials to make more unique items.

1. Shopping for Materials

When shopping for materials some of the information provided may be confusing. For example, the material’s “Weight Multiplier” value is what you use to determine how much in weight of a material you need for a design. Designs list how much material by weight is needed in three standard formats, hide, oak, or steel.

Lets say you are building an iron helmet that says it requires 2 pounds of steel. Instead of using steel, you wanted to use iron. Well to find out how much iron you needed, you would look at the “Weight Multiplier” value, which for iron is x 1.2. You would take 2 x 1.2 to find out that you need 2.4 pounds of iron to make that helmet and that the helmet will weight 2.4 pounds.

Take note that some designs do not have an attack value, yet the material lists all values. You will only use the values that the design allows for, so if your design does not allow for an attack value, then you will not consider the material’s attack value.

When dealing with PR and MR, remember that only armor has a PR and MR value.

When you complete your item, all values are rounded up to the nearest whole number, except for weight and cost which are rounded up to the nearest 0.01.

2. Selling Materials

You are able to sell any material that you do not want or need back to any store that makes use of them. You will be offered 1/2 of the selling price.

2.1. Selling Items Created with Your Own Materials

You are able to sell any item you create with your own materials just like any other item, adding in 1/2 of the material’s cost.

3. Supplying Your Own Materials for Weapons and Armor

You are able to supply your own materials to any weapon and armor smith for them to make the armor or weapon from. They would decrease the cost of the weapon or armor by taking out the material cost from said weapon or armor and only charging for design cost. You can also give the weapon or armor smith your unused weapon or armor to have them use the materials from those items. If you do not have enough of a needed material, the smith will add some from his stock, only charging you for the amount of material he had to add.

Ouch. Stupid bugs. Knowing you Mythus you’ll squash them. Where’s a can of raid when you need it?

    Hey I got your pm @Gryphon .

The faulty broken PM system and not being able to link character profiles to signatures is aggravating to say the least. I wish I tested out the forum stuff better before starting it. I guess it's too late to worry about it now though.

Mythus I sent a test pm to you to see if it works. If not let me know.

Cool, thanks Anna! I’ll definitely keep that in mind. I make the flowers out of FIMO which is a polymer clay but I suppose they could also be made of other materials. That would be awesome actually.. I’ll let you know how that goes.

Congrats... that's no small feat. I applaud what you're doing. Lemme know if you wanna do mass production. My family owns a business that can help.... 757-303-4409 (and yes, everyone can text me anytime)

I just got interviewed by a local newspaper publisher for info on a special fundraising effort I created for the American Red Cross. It’s called “Flowers of Hope and I’ve created a line of magnets and ornaments that are shaped like Plumeria flowers after the eruption of the massive volcano in Hawaii. I started this over the summer and now it may just go viral . If I don’t respond too quickly a lot of the times I may be making more flowers or talking to the writer about an article about me. I’ll keep you guys posted as things develop. But so far it’s good news. :)

Sorry Mythus it didn’t go through. I was at a craft fair the other day as a vendor and perhaps the internet connection wasn’t too good.

Hi, I know Gryphons only showed up in the fourth era but would it be possible that a sparse population may stil reside unbeknown to Nor Ovan Society, to elude hunters? I wanted to play a regular gryphon who is a descendant of Copperwing. I wanted to create Gracie Copperwing, great great great granddaughter of Copperwing, who is very good natured but a bit of a klutz on her takeoff and landings. She’s very sensible though, and thinks much like Gossford does. And she’s not a wreck less heroic figure. She’s like a normal human with fur and feathers and she can speak well. But if not I won’t add her.
