Vital Stats

Vitalstats  Vitals are the stats that you refer to to determine the life and energy of your character. These stats are HPSA, and EP. You will not place any stat points into these stats but your race or element might have a modifier for these stats. These stats are directly determined by your character's main stats.

HP: Health Points

HP: HP stands for Health Points. This stat is basically your character’s life. Taking damage whether by getting hurt or by poisons causes your character’s HP to decrease. Taking potions and significant rest as well as healing skills and spells can cause your character’s HP to recover. It should be noted that once your character’s HP reaches zero (0), your character is considered incapacitated. When your Mortality reaches 0, your character is dead. Your current HP is recorded in the heart, while your Full, With Mods, and Mortality stats are recorded in the white spaces within the Modifiers bubble. 

  • Modifiers: Modifiers is for you to record anything that might affect HP.
  • Full: Full is simply your HP at full, with no modifiers, bonuses, or losses. Your current HP might always get changed, but Full will only change when your HP capacity increases due to a change in Fortitude. 
  • Mortality: Mortality is how much life you have left after your HP has reached 0. When your Mortality reaches 0, you are considered dead and only the powerful spells that can resurrect the dead can revive you. Otherwise you must make a new character. Please understand that any resurrection spell must revive your character within a few hours of death, or your character's spirit would have left making revival impossible. Mortality is 1/2 of your Fortitude stat. 
  • Determining HP: HP is a derived stat and thus when you generate your stats, you will not be assigning a number to HP. Instead HP is based directly on Fortitude. HP is double your character's fortitude (HP = Fortitude x 2).

It is important to consider the strengths and weaknesses of your character and plan accordingly. A character with a lower HP would be wise to have a good selection of healing skills and spells, the best armor they can afford, and a good selection of potions for healing and revival purposes. They would also be wise to have at least one other character accompany them that can revive them if needed. 

SA: Skill Ability Points

SA: SA stands for Skill Ability Points, points is simply not included in the abbreviation. This stat is your character’s capacity to use skills and spells. But SA isn’t used by all types of skills. The types of skills that use SA usually are skills that require thought or mental conditioning. Skills that require raw energy would depend upon another stat.

Your current SA is recorded in the cloud bubble, while your Full, With Mods, and Awareness stats are recorded in the white spaces within the Modifiers bubble. 

  • Modifiers: Modifiers is for you to record anything that might affect SA.
  • Full: Full is simply your SA at full, with no modifiers, bonuses, or losses. Your current SA might always get changed, but Full will only change when your SA capacity increases due to a change in Mental. 
  • Awareness: Awareness is your character's mental state. As long as you have SA, you don't have to worry much about awareness. However, if you use more SA than you have, or if something should affect your SA after you don't have any or enough, your character's Awareness stat will be affected. Once Awareness hits 0, your character will be unable to act or do anything, stuck in a blank stare until your SA is restored. Awareness is 1/2 of your Mental stat. 
  • Determining SA: SA is a derived stat and thus when you generate your stats, you will not be assigning a number to SA. Instead SA is based directly on Mental. SA is double your character's mental (SA = Mental x 2).

There are potions and skills that help recover spent SA, and significant rest also will recover spent SA. Once your character has spent all of his or her SA they risk losing awareness.

EP: Endurance Points

EP: EP stands for Endurance Points. This stat is your character’s endurance. In other words it shows how much physical activity and physical strain your character can handle. Skills that use raw power and could tire your character out such as attacking skills use EP. Also going too long without rest, food, or water can drain your character’s EP as can being in weather conditions your character is not accustomed to such as too hot or too cold weather. Your current EP is recorded in the star bubble, while your Full, With Mods, and Fatigue stats are recorded in the white spaces within the Modifiers bubble. 

  • Modifiers: Modifiers is for you to record anything that might affect EP.
  • Full: Full is simply your EP at full, with no modifiers, bonuses, or losses. Your current EP might always get changed, but Full will only change when your EP capacity increases due to a change in Strength. 
  • Fatigue: Fatigue is your character's level before passing out due to fatigue. As long as your character has EP, you will likely not worry about this. However, if you use more EP than you have, or if something should affect your EP after you don't have any or enough, your character's Fatigue stat will be affected. Once Fatigue hits 0, your character will pass out, unable to awaken until your Fatigue refills, which it will do after an hour. Fatigue is 1/2 of your Strength stat. 
  • Determining EP: EP is a derived stat and thus when you generate your stats, you will not be assigning a number to EP. Instead EP is based directly on Strength. EP is double your character's Strength (EP = Strength x 2).

There are some potions that restore lost EP, but generally the best method of recovering EP is to eat good meals, drink plenty of fluids, and get significant rest. Once your character has spent all of his or her EP, your character can no longer use skills that require EP, your character risks passing out due to fatigue.
