The Fishing & Hunting Supplies section of your local general store provides you with the tools needed to catch your own food. If you are planning on living off of the land, or just want to be extra prepared in case during your adventure you start to run out of rations, then you will want to take a good look at the items available here.

Here you can find a good assortment of fishing poles and fishing supplies. You will be able to purchase any needed hooks, bait, fishing lines, sinkers, and bobbers that you need. You will also find tools to aid you in hunting, such as traps, cages, calls, and alarms.

While these items may not be vital to your upcoming adventure, they may prove very beneficial. Being able to catch your own food would save you on your rations cost. Plus you could always sell the hides of most animals for some extra money.

Selling of Hides

You are able to sell any hides you have collected to your local general store. The offering rate for hides is 1.92 shillings per pound for most common hides. More exotic hides may find an increase in value, as determined by the GM.

Fishing Poles & Supplies

Long, thin poles of wood with a basic reel used to catch fish with as well as the items used with the poles.

Fishing Hook

1 small steel hook that is tied onto a fishing line to catch fish. It can also be thrown at a target or if stepped on to cause 1d3 points of damage.

Bait

A light weight piece of wood which is painted red and white. It connects to a fishing line and floats on the top of the water. When it gets pulled under you know that you have caught a fish.

Steel Ankle Trap

A circular piece of steel with sharp teeth that closes together on a hinge when something presses down on its center pressure plate. A bell is set to start ringing as soon as the trap is sprung. The ringing bell will be heard by anyone or anything in a 200 sq foot area. Hunters that are watching the trap may remove the bell if needed.

Weighted Cast Net

A heavy-duty net made of leather with iron weights on its ends. It's attached to a 10 foot long leather rope and is used for catching small animals, birds, and fish with.

Rodent Trap

A small cage with an angled door and a place for bait. Once the rodent walks onto the door ramp and into the cage the door is closed by the rodent's own weight trapping it in the cage.

Rope Trap

A 10 foot long piece of burlap rope with a noose on one end and a string on the other end for the bait. This trap is set by throwing the rope over a tree branch or beam, with the bait visible and the noose hidden just before the bait on the ground. When the animal grabs the bait, they pull on it, causing the rope to pull up and around their ankles, suspending them upside down in the air.
