Minari gasped as the woman draped over her Sprout changed into a beautiful little Elven maiden and awoke. Before she could utter a word of curiosity, though, tan opened his eyes and grabbed a hold of the woman and kissed her like she was the very air he was starving for. The purity of the declaration of love before her was enough to convince her that this was the woman spoken of. And she was no threat to her charge.

As they broke the kiss and tan turned to her, the difference in him was so obvious it nearly drew another gasp from her. No longer was this a man child with an addled mind and shattered self. The mutterings of orders to unseen armies and desire to return to throne and sword were now crystal clear. "You are a King..." she found herself muttering in realization.

When he called her Shard, she didn't understand. But as he rose to get the others, she dared not ask. That was when the elf female spoke to her. The description of what a Shard was made Minari blush. "I'm no such thing. I found him and kept him as I would anyone needing help." The look she gave in Tann's direction was as full of love as anyone who has cared for someone. "He doesn't need me now. He's whole again, thanks to you." She glanced and nodded to Nia. "You are the soul hrs been searching for, though he didn't know it. Whatever life he led before this one, I'm sure he was good at. His memories, shattered as they were, were full of leadership and kindness, and devotion and hope. Such things stay with us from life to life. I am glad he is such a person."

She fell silent and listened to his speaking, but remained on the floor where she was. She would let them all go then silently return to her hut in the forest. He didn't need her anymore. And she wouldn't burden him with feeling responsible for her. So she remained silent and in the corner as Nia rose up during his speech and spoke of other companions she knew nothing of.

Sheilis's attention snaps back to his lord, and returns the hug and does a slight bow as Tann steps back.

A grin crossed over his face as his eyes fell on Nia, "what I saw with in you now all can see." He said simply.  He frowned as Tann and Nia spoke both of Amon and of protecting Arangoth and Rael.. "Rael only needs guidance to not be stolen rash," he stated shaking his head slightly.

He focused on the woman and stepped closer, something about her fascinated him, though his face showed  nothingnothing impassive mask.  "He does not lavish praise.on those who do not deserve it.  You kept him alive, no matter how you look at it, you did, and for that you have my thanks." He looked at his lord and lady, "you think cause he is whole he has no need of you?" He snorts through his nose, "the woman who is his wife from this world wants him dead,  and will go to any lengths to achieve it. Lord Tann needs friends and alies by his side, you included."

Sheilis turns his attention to his lord, "a head on confrontation I think would be foolish, a.distraction of some kind would be useful."

Tiana pursed her lips at the Information from Arangoth and a ghost of a smile passed over her face as if she remembered something humorous. "Good luck and may you find that glow give you some hope," she said at Arangoth's back.

She turned her attention back to Rael, "I can see that you will wave ur sword at any who approach," there was a faint laugh in her tone.  "I rarely worry about someone guarding an entrance, though if Lord Tann and Lady LieAnnia.are here...." Her eyes grow distant for a moment before focusing on the Inn.

"I have no idea when I will be leaving, not until I find what it is that I'm looking for i know that atleast." Her eyes turn toward the Cathedral Arangoth spoke of before turning away and sighed before heading inside the Inn. She pulled her hood up as she did, more out of habit then fear.

She looked around, it was mostly women and children though a few men were scattered about.  Worry was thick in the air, but so was hope though tremulous.  Tiana was thrown  back into a memory.

FLASHBACK

"Hessy! Give me your arm! Need some blood if this is going to work!"

"I have a name you withered bag of bones! And what work?  What are you going on about?"

"Waking Up Grent like you ears Tann what else??  This cam0 needs a leader who has seen battle,, not some hessy with a hair brained scheme to find a damned sword and kill Zodo."

Tiana bristled and opened her mouth to retort only to have a bitter potion shoved in it and she coughed, swallowing it.  The camp around them wavered the men milling about faded from view and things went dark.

END FLASH BACK

Tiana was back in the Inn and looked at the stairs and started up them as she reached the top she heard familiar voice and her heart jumped into her throat, she wasn't sure if she would ever hear any of these voices again.

As she stood at the door that Sheilis had opened she could see Lord Tann and she spoke, "it is good to see you alive, this strengthens my belief this can be done."

Tann chuckles at Sheilis's comment, "Ah, but rushing in swords drawn is so much more entertaining!" A large grin playing at his lips at his most recent memories of his time in the jungle, "Besides, it isn't like I've ever just rushed in somewhere, right Minari?

Tann's momentary amusement lapses as he sees and hears Tiana. Turning towards her, a friendly smile still etched on his face for seeing so many of his long time companions, "Ah my heart grows lighter seeing the Sword Maiden is with us." Silently he hoped that Tiana was well, spiritually and emotionally, given that her husband and his old friend were once again likely in Zodo's thralls. He also wondered if his dear wife would somehow tie her to Zodo just as she had understandably tied Taal to him. Tann hoped not, but still he knew that it was a possibility.

Tannhauser's mind then went back to the situation and his eyes turned to Minari once again. He recalled how many times she went after him, from the first moment she found him wondering the Chalcedon Wastes lost, confused, and starving to the recent expedition into the old dragon castle in the swamp. Despite how she feels at this moment, Tann knew well that she did far more than what any other would have done, and that he'd not be alive now if it wasn't for her. He wanted nothing more than to thank her, to reward her, and to escort her safely back to the life that she knew, but he knew she'd never be safe now and he also knew he still needed her, for at least one more adventure.

"Minari," Tann smiled sadly, "surely I say unto you, I would have died in the wastes if not for you. Think not so little of what you have done and have endured, to have been exiled by your own people for taking in a wildling, and for never having given up on me. I shall not force you to stay, for as Sheilis states I need friends, not servants, but I do ask that you would reconsider." Tann's smile fades, "I am hoping that I can convince you to go on one more quest for me."

Tannhauser then turns to the nephilim who had backed up upon seeing Tiana. He raised an eyebrow for a moment, then realized why she must be nervous around her. This nephilim was a servant of her husband, likely here to ensure that his friends were kept safe despite the current situation. He smiles, "Kydia is it? Would you help us in freeing this town and ourselves from Amon?"

Kydia the nephilim's eyes open wide for a moment before she nods, "Y... yes of course. It is my sacred charge to do what I can."

Tann nods, "You have the ability to teleport others to places within their own memories, yes?" She nodded. "Could you send Minari to the sinking dragon castle in the Chalcedonian Jungle?" Kydia nods, "Y... yes, if that is what you wish."

Tannhauser then turns back to Minari, "I am sure that you must have sensed it too. Despite the form he has taken, I do not believe that Belias is his true identity. It is common for dragon kind to be cursed and to believe in false realities, but I feel that at the end he does remember deep down who he truly is." Tann looked over at Tiana, "Belias is in truth the Black Dragon, Tzen, the Wise. Tzen has always had the ability to open portals and understand thoughts." He turns back to Minari, "I've no doubt that Amon has by now sensed my awakening and Tiana's arrival. I wish for you to go to Tzen, and tell him that his niece is in grave danger by the demon Amon. Can you do this for me?"

Tannhauser turns back to Sheilis, "That would be our distraction. May it be enough to chase the demon from here, giving us time to prepare. If not though, we do have one other.... weapon that we could call upon."

Tiana dipped her head forward slightly in acknowledgement of Tann's greeting, a faint smile tugging at her lips.  "That was my title in the dream Tann, I hope to find a different way to finish all of this, though I know where Legend fell and hopefully stays hidden."

Her eyes didn't dim, and she took a deep breath, "what you say is true.  It is T'zen, he stayed in the old ruins of a castle that echoed so many memories.  I left him in charge of something for my daughter, if they ever crossed paths.  Though I do not know if he would reveal himself so to speak, he has accepted his cursed form as his own.  He is one of the many reasons why I am searching this world for information."

She tilted her head to the side, she knew her Uncle cared deeply for her, and perhaps it would be the key to his redemption, if he accepted it. She stepped further into the room, and as she did the elf standing off to the side caught her eye, "Uncle Sheilis?"

She stared at him for a few seconds before she quickly crossed the space and hugged him, relieved to see he had made it in this world.

Sheilis arched an eyebrow at his Lord's comment about rushing in, but said nothing.  His eyes turned to who his lord greeted and his eyes widened.  It was his niece!  She was alive, and seemed to be well, though it was hard to tell with the cloak she had herself wrapped in.

He turned his attention back to Tann, focusing on what he was saying and pushing what emotions he was feeling to the back of his mind.  He had no reaction about the information about T-Zen, he didn't hate dragons like some elves did, but he had no love for them either.  They had to prove themselves to him to earn his trust, and most wouldn't even bother.

Sheilis frowned as he proccessed what Lord Tann presented, "a cursed dragon showing up and causing mischief would provide quite the distraction.  My expertise is not dealing in demons though my lord, it is dealing with men."  He thought back to what he saw downstairs, "there is little downstairs that could be made ready to fight, and not knowing the strength of the forces he holds I wouldn't risk it that way."

He clasped his hands behind his back, thinking, "but if the distraction bought us some time, and a little bit of recon on my part, I think we would have something."

As he finished speaking, his niece noticed him and she quickly crossed the room and hugged him.  He hesitated a moment before hugging her back, "you've grown." he commented.

Nia had remained close to Tann's side as reunited hugs, tears and smiles were shared and exchanged. She was glad... grateful, actually... that Minari had been there to care for Tann. She would make an excellent Shard.

As Tann and Sheilis some of the dragon, she shivered slightly and stepped back close enough to Tann to be in his arms of he chose to shift slightly. "I sensed *something* in the drain. But I want sure what it was. But if you believe that he is what you say, then I will not question you." A smile touched her lips as she looked up to her husband. "You have seen things I haven't. And even in this life I know you've been places I have not. Tell me what you desire of me, and you shall have it. I don't want to see **this** life fall as the other did."

When Tiana came in and everyone reacted, she gasped a moment then fell silent and stepped a bit away so tan was free to greet her. She and the woman hadn't been close but she remembered her, none the less. A small shiver went down her spine as Taal Zodo's image filled her mind enough to almost make her vision swim. She shook herself, more like a shudder, to clear the thought.

Seeing the weight rise off Sheilis, even for a moment, lightened her heart and she covered her discomfort with a soft smile. If Tann and her own Shard were welcoming the woman, perhaps she had nothing to worry about. But it still itched in the back of her mind... a fear linked to memories of that other life. It was true that those here who had been good, were good still. The question was... what of those who had been evil?

Minari had been about to respond to Tann's request for one more boon when Tiana's arrival was noted.

She remained silent as the exchanges happened. When Tann once more turned to her, the woman straightened slightly but there was evidence of fear in her eyes. "You want *me* to do this for you, Spr...I mean, Lord Tanhaser?" She didn't realize the mispronunciation of his name. She was still a little stunned that this man was, or had been, a King. She had known there was more to him ... but this was still a shock.

"I mean, if it will help, of course I will."

When she heard him beseech the healer to send her, she shivered. Portals still frightened her. She wasn't used to so much magic in such a short time. Sure, she had her own, limited, abilities. But they were simple hedge spells compared to the works and sights she'd seen since her little Sprout's spirited run off just a couple nights before.

Re: Hope and Fear

Tann chuckled at Minari's mispronunciation, but not in a way that she'd hopefully notice or take offense. In truth, the high elf heald a great deal of love in his heart for the namaran, not a romantic love, but the love of family. Whether she'd own it or not, this woman has done something that few would consider, she cared for a mad, deminted stranger with no knowledge of his past or no fear for her own safety or situation. To find that the one who only days prior acted as a child is a king, such a shock that must be for her.

Tann also noticed his love's discomfort with Tiana. He had expected it would come when he saw the former sword bearer enter. Tann could of course remind her that Tiana defeated Zodo, if only in the dream, and that the man she married was not Zodo, but he did not. What good would it do? For Lie'Ania, Taal and Zodo were one and would always be one, as it were for any who suffered so from the dark god. As it must be for his old friend Taal, he wagered, who suffered even more.

Tannhauser instead sets his mind on the problem at hand. They were in a town controlled by the demon lord Amon. Tann knew Amon, knew him well. In the dream Amon rulled Eleusia during the reign of Taal Zodo, and Tann learned him well and defeated him. He knew how the demon lord thought, what he loved, what he feared. With that of course, his heart sunk a bit, there was one thing that all demon kind feared above all others..... Zodo.

Tann smiled, letting a little chuckle out, "Oh Sheilis, Do you think I mean to wage war here?" He shakes his head, "As exciting as it could be to arm everyone here and storm the town center, my plan doesn't involve any fighting at all. At least not yet." Tannhauser paces around as he lays bear his strategy, "Amon is diabolical and vile, crafty and cunning. He is also easily frightened. I mean to frighten him, to have him flee, to rush on ahead of schedule to where he was likely planning to go anyways. He'd likely take his next prize, but he'd do so less prepared, and in his fear he'd leave this place to us for the moment giving us time to prepare for battle."

Tannhauser turned to Minari, "I had indeed planned to have T'Zen set fire to the Cathedral, but that isn't enough to put fear into a demon lord such as Amon. Still, T'Zen would prove invaluable in the comming war, if he can be convinced to come. And for that I am delighteted to hear that my friend Minari will go to him."

Tannhauser casts a "I'm sorry" look at his wife before turning towards Tiana, "There is but one thing in all of Nor'Ova and Xodod that would truly scare Amon. I've no right to ask this of you dear Tiana, but in this you could truly save us. Would you help us?" He smiles faintly, "No demon, be it a lowly imp or a great prince of Xodod would dare to lay a finger on you. They fear greatly whom's blessing and protection you have. You could walk right out of here and demand Amon and his hoards to flee, and should he fling one bolt of Xodod flame...." Tann left the rest to everyone's imagination, but he knew well that Taal would smite the demon, and there wasn't a shred of doubt in Tann's mind that Taal would know. He could feel his aura about Tiana even now. He knew of course how hard of a request he was asking. For Tiana, it would mean not only recognizing that her husband was awake, but that something still persisted within him. For Lie'Ania it would mean coming so close again to a power frightens her to her very core. Frightens them both, and the world entire. But it would be the path of least destruction, and hopefully just seeing Tiana would be enough to put the fear of Zodo in Amon....

Tannhauser sighs, "And there it is. The nephilim would send Minari to T'Zen, and she'd plead our case. We'd make plans for the people here in the inn to keep them safe, and hopefully we can count one more time on Lady Tiana."
