"What is this?" Niel courageously reaches beneath a collapsed shelf of some kind for an object he barely managed to spot just moments earlier. The silver glow of the mage light barely caught the rectangular outline, the shape of what appeared to be a book. 'If only I had been born under the runic soul of flame', Niel mused, 'then maybe my mage light could show a brighter light.' Mage lights, as they were, used the wielder's runic power to produce a beam of light. The color and intensity of the light was reflective of both the wielder's runic element, and control over said element. Those under the element of fire would produce a bright yellow-orange beam that even with no real control could illuminate quite well. Niel was born under time, his light was thusly silver, and his limited control barely helped to provide but a small illumination. 

Pulling the book from the debris, Niel frowned, "Not enough light to really make it out. And it is getting late." Niel stand to his full height of just short of six feet and looks about the room, his elven senses helping him to get a good sense of the area and what could be lurking within. The room was what you would expect from a place long abandoned, but there were no holes in the walls, and only a few small holes in the ceiling above him showing the darkening sky. "This room is in surprisingly good shape," Niel muttered to himself. "The doorway is easily enough to barricade, and that corner back there would allow for a safe enough place to rest." 

With a grunt, Niel dragged the shelf to the doorway. He then went to the corner and gingerly cleared a spot. "Ah this should do the trick," Niel grabs a runestone from his pack and holds it out, creating a small fire. "There, now I have light, let us see if we can even attempt to read this book..."
