1) Brief History
Canids are a nomadic race who never stay put in one area. Because of this, they have had little to no impact with the rest of the world. Their only fights have been against their sword enemies, cathar. It is widely believed that they came to exist after during the Great Magic War. It is believed that the effects of the Great Magic War mutated the wild dogs changing them forever into a race of sentient upright beings with human like intelligence yet dog senses.
Back to top2) Positives & Negatives
Canids have human-like intelligence and speed and skills. They boost excellent hearing, a great sense of smell, and amazing speed. Canids however are very territorial and aggressive, though are loyal to friends and allies.
Canids excel at skills that make them great hunters, trackers, and warriors.
Canids have claws that have an attack power of 10. They can also bite doing Melee Power + 5 damage.
2.1) Racial Skills & Abilities
Canids start with the following skills at level 1 mastery:
Skill | Stat Cost | Description | Level Effects | Cost to Acquire |
---|---|---|---|---|
For the Pack | shared stats | Canids are a very communal, for the pack race, even if the 'pack' that they are traveling with does not consist of other canids. With this skill, the canid can share up to half of his or her HP, SA, or EP to any friend that the canid is traveling with. This skill can be used when or as needed as a supportive action. |

Joint Attack | N/A | Canids are hyper loyal to their pack of friends and adventurers, to the point that they desire to assist them. Should the target an ally is attacking be within weapon range, this skill gives the canid a +15 to React for a chance to attack the target at the same time as his or her ally does. Should the react check be successful, this skill gives the canid one physical attack. The canid can use one attack skill or attack skill chain and can use melee, throw, or ranged attacks. Melee, Throw, or Bow power does apply as does a crit chance. |

Scent Tracking | N/A | The canid has a greatly enhanced sense of smell. When tracking they can use their sense of smell and get a +15 to their Perceive during the time they are tracking. This allows them to be hyper aware of hidden dangers and enemies, allowing them to track with their nose to the ground and not be ambushed. |

3) Lifespan
Canids have two stages of life. The first stage, puppy or pup, last from birth until 14. During this stage the young canid grows and develops it’s many skills needed for survival. The young canid stays at home during this stage. The canid also learns hunting and tracking skills during this stage.
The final stage, adulthood, last from 15 until death. To be accepted as an adult, the canid must prove his or her worth as an adult by hunting down a cathar. It is also during this stage that a canid may find a spouse. According to canid custom, the male must win the love of his hopeful mate by showing off and proving to the sought after mate that he is worth her attention. Death comes naturally and expectantly to the canid.
Back to top4) Appearance
Canids have a human stance, standing on two legs and have human reproductive organs and human-like features. However canids are covered from head to toe in fur. Some canids have single color fur while some have multicolored fur. Some have long fur while some have short fur. Some have long tails while some have bobbed tails. Also with the fur they have human hair on their heads, usually in red, brown, blond, or black… of any length. They have dog ears, some pointed, some droopy. Canids have dog-shaped faces, dog-shaped eyes that are blue or gray. They also have dog noses.
Back to top5) Living Habitat
Canids can be found in many various locations trying to fit in and make a home for themselves. They also enjoy the plains. Canids are constantly traveling.
Back to top6) Food & Sleeping Requirements
They require one meal a day, and must sleep for one cycle, whether it be day or night, lest they tire out. The sleep cycle must come after seven awake cycles.
Back to top7) Culture
Canids, similar to Cathar and the anthropoids, are very tribal. They are also a nomadic people, migrating across the great plains or the deep forests of the world. They are polytheistic in belief, worshiping nature and their ancestors.
Canids do not use surnames. Instead they will refer to the tribe that they are part of, for example, Grim of the Jagged Tooth. First names are often very beast-like.
Back to top8) Racial Relations
Canids have actually had very little interaction with most races partly because most of them live in the more remote areas of the world. Thus canids generally do not have a per race relationship, it is more of a per individual or per tribe relationship with their relationships being based on need, desire, or circumstance. The race that almost always drive them to violence is the cathar.
Back to top9) World Movement
Candids have a large gait but are not as fast runners as cathars.
