Habitat: Rats can be found anywhere dark as long as there is food to eat. They particularly love sewers, run down city ally ways, basements, caves, and ruins.

Appearance: The rat is a brown or grey rodent with a body up to 10 inches long, and a similar tail length; the male weighs on average 12 oz and the female 9 oz.

Rat's Cry This ability allows the rat to call for help. There is a 25% chance that each time a rat is attacked 1d4 more rats will come into the battle.


Combat Notes

Rats are basic pests and just a couple of them should be no trouble for anyone. However, rats rarely travel in small groups. If you see a rat you can bet that there is many more nearby (typically encountered in rates of 10 to 100). What is worse is that their attacks can make you sick, can poison you, and they always call for help. A battle with ten rates can quickly turn into a battle with a hundred rats and anyone not prepared could meet a terrible end as the rats swarm their body savegly ripping at their flesh. Tamed rats will also call for help but the help will leave when the battle is over and cannot be tamed.
