Habitat: Sky motes can be found anywhere where the weather is calm as long as it is within a temperate or tropical climate.

Appearance: Sky motes tend to travel in groups of 10 to 500, each less than a quarter of an inch in diameter. They range from foggy white to clear blue and many have a slight glow to them.

Draining Shock With this ability applied to the sky mote's attack, the 1 HP damage done is returned to the sky mote to restore its HP with. This ability is applied by spending 1 magic action + 2 SA.
Poisoning Shock With this ability applied to the sky mote's attack, the sky mote can poison the target doing 1 HP damage per round as well as the 1 HP damage typically dealt. If two sky motes use this skill at the same time on the same target, the target would lose 2 HP per round. This skill is more powerful when used by many sky motes at the same time. This ability is applied by spending 1 magic action + 2 SA.
Manna Drain Shock With this ability applied to the sky mote's attack, the sky mote also does 1 SA damage to the target with its 1 HP damage. The SA is returned to the sky mote to restore its SA with. This ability is applied by spending 1 magic action + 2 EP.


Combat Notes

Sky motes float about the countryside and are considered a good omen by sailors. They often proceed periods of calm weather and are never seen during violent storms. It seems that they share a certain fondness for fine wines as many humans do, and can often be found ‘sampling’ the local vintner’s wares during calm weather.

The sky motes attack with a static electric jolt when threatened. Typically they discharge bolts, each dealing 1 HP damage per bolt per turn, at a single target before moving on. Their bolts cannot be protected against any armor. Magic is the most effective way to fight them as they are too small to be accurately hit by a melee weapon or even a projectile weapon. They take half damage from metal weaponry as well. You will never encounter less that 10 sky motes but could encounter up to 500 of them, all acting as one unit.
