"34.1: Lo, for the Demiurge El'Anon did tower among the world claiming to be its one true god. El'Anon, the great adversary caused brother to rise against brother and twisted the very fabric of this world to become its ruler. But lest not you worry brothers and sisters, for the season of the demiurge was soon to come to an end.

34.12: At the appropriate time in the depths of the lowest pit of Xodod, the demiurge El'Anon rose to smite those who rose against his beast of the earth. But behold, for the Angel of Zodo did rise up against him, and uniting with the children of Zodo, the mighty angel brought down her scythe and mortally wounded the demiurge upon its head.

34.13: And so the adversary El'Anon, the demiurge who claimed the power of creation and twisted the fabric of space and time for its own purposes of deception, let out a mighty cry. The Demiurge fell, absorbed by the mighty Zodo, who with the true power of creation undid the perversion of the Demiurge, and recreated the world before the time of El'Anon where the father Zodo would dwell with his children."

The Plot

The timelines of the past came to a halt when the god El'Anon was felled by a weapon of the Soul of Zodo. Zodo took this opportunity to deconstruct the myriad web of timelines and brought them back to before the Great Magic War. There however is a new twist, as he went back further and implanted himself physically in this new world with no yet defined future. There he helped it to develop in a way that he thought best.

But not everything is right. Vacuums create openings for new problems, and Zodo had been seeking to fix these problems with his own power. To do so Zodo has removed himself from mortal eyes and sought to fix the voids that were forming and to look for their source. In his absence the world that had developed with an abundance of his magical power began to feel his absence. Magic became less stable but still very potent. The world sought to control this and developed technologies to control and use magic. In time Zodo became more of a myth or an absent god. Many became to deny his existence and instead focused on science and technology and the study of runic energy as magic became known as.

With no benevolent god controlling the scene people rose to power, some good and benevolent, others not so much. Now the world has advanced to a far state that is a hybrid of technology and runic energy, while runic storms roam the planet, societies rise and fall, and the corrupt rise to power. The faithful cry out to Zodo, but he seems never to answer. Still, others swear that they have encountered aspects of him, parts of Zodo so they claim, even though to imagine a powerful god as parts is complete blasphemy.

The Campaign

This campaign will take place in a different existence from most other Legend of Nor'Ova campaigns. It is a campaign that takes place in a First Era where Zodo had always been present but now seems to not be. It is not a time of the Great Magic War. Instead it is a time many claim is the coming Ablution, the end of the world so to speak. It is a world that merges aspects of the First Era and Fifth Era, of Bears of Power and Saga of Ablution. It is a campaign with both technology and magictech, known as runic-tech here.

This RP takes place in the 22nd century of the 1st Era. This is a time with technology of Nor'Ova at its highest. A world where everything is connected by a super internet that thinks, learns, and solves problems on its own govern by a rapidly advancing AI known as the MIND. It is also a world on the verge of societal collapse as runic storms seem to be on the increase and thoughts of the end of times are on many peoples minds.

The latest track has Runic Storm Caitlynn heading towards the central Chalcedon. All towns in its path are advised to take shelter or evacuate. It has already destroyed the town of Ciaphate. This particular storm seems to be a runic storm of fire and time energies.

- MINDnet Broadcast on Runic Storm Caitlynn, 23rd of Tarsis, year 2180

Governments struggle to maintain control on the far reaches of their control. Corruption is at an all-time high. The rich seem to get richer and the poor get poorer. Some of the smaller nations of the continent of Chalcedonia have merged together to form the Union of Chalcedonia.  Skirmishes have broken out between them and the Kingdom of Maya to the east as the Union seeks to annex them into their continent spreading union, in the name of "peace and security for all".

Unlike the Bearers of Power Campaign, there is no timeline that exists after this time period. All the future timelines and timeline splits have been destroyed. There is only the here and now at the present.

This world is fairly similar to the world you know in real life and the world of the Bearers of Power campaign. The big difference is that magic technology is the large driver of innovation here, with many things powered by runic cells and runic devices. Other forms of power were created or researched but none yet match runic tech. You won't find flying cars of course, but you will find a world that is a bit more advanced than what you know now. A world of high-speed rail and rune-cell powered cars. A world where you can solve problems yet unsolved by a simple "internet" search. A world where old age and disease is being combated with the latest in genetic therapy and where robotics is on the verge of replacing human bodies fully.

To imagine Nor'Ova in this campaign, you simply need to look around, and imagine if you will, if the current researches in genetics and robotics have already been completed. Imagine asking your computer to cure your cold, and it being able to do so by a doctor emailing your pharmacy a genetic medicine without you ever picking up a phone or seeing the doctor, because your computer already has deduced all of your symptoms for your doctor. Now replace many sources of fuel with runic cells and add in hurricane like storms fueled by runic instability in the atmosphere, and you'll have a good idea of life in this world.
