Profession: Artificer
Pay Rate: 400 shillings per game week
Bonuses:
  • Mental Race Max increased by 30%.
  • Soul increased by 10%
  • +5 modifier to Perceive and Detect
Penalties:
  • Strength Race Max decreased by 15%.
  • 10 Penalty to Strength.
Weapon & Armor Types:
  • Artificers can use rods, revolvers, and throwing weapons.
  • Artificers can only wear light armor and cannot use shields.

Artificers are master inventors of the arcane.

Artificer is a combo profession of Runic Mage and Crafter.

Requirements for Artificer

In order to open up the Artificer combo profession, you need to meet the following requirements:

  • At least level 2 of Anima Stone Theory from Runic Mage.
  • At least level 3 of Crafting from Crafter.

The cost to acquire the skill depends on the level you are acquiring the skill, as well as the tier level of the skill.

Character Point Rate

Artificers are masterful arcane crafters. Mental and Perceive is the way to go for them.

The Artificer's character point rate is:
  • Mental x 0.01; with an additional +0.2 for every level obtained in Arcane Crafting (total of +0.8 bonus possible).
  • An artificer who gets all 4 levels of Arcane Materials gets to roll a 1d% increased by Mental as a percentage for extra character points.
  • An artificer who gets all 4 levels of Enhancement gets to roll  2d% increased by Mental as a percentage for extra character points.
  • An artificer who gets at least 1 level in every artificer skill gets their End of Session Bonus as extra character points.
  • An artificer's End of Session Bonus rate is your character point rate increased by 1/2 Mental. So if your character point rate is 1.5 and your React is 60, you would take 1.5 x 30 to get 45 extra character points at the end of the session. The GM can of course reward extra character points based on role playing.

Create Magical Totem 10 Soul Create a magical totem. This ability  allows you to transform something you already possess into a magical totem. The totem decreases the casting costs of any spell you are casting by 1 and the stat cost by 10%. However, the totem has only as much Soul that you put into it. The totem will lose the spell's Soul cost in Soul each time you cast a spell while holding the totem, and once the Soul cost is depleted, the totem becomes a normal object again, no longer providing its effect. To create a totem, simply hold the object you wish to enchant and spend your Soul into it, 10 Soul at a time, until you are satisfied. Every 10 Soul spent takes 1 minute of game time. This ability can't be used in combat. This is best used when using spells you've already mastered from your rune stones. N/A: only one level

Artificer Growth

As you develop and master skills within your artificer profession, you will become a more capable artificer. Each set of skills mastered will increase your tier level in your profession, which in turn will provide you with more benefits.

Tier 1: Basic Artificer

This is the tier level you start out as. The starting bonuses listed earlier apply here.

Tier 2: Novice Artificer

To reach this tier, you must acquire all of the skills in the create magical totem skill chain at level 1. As a novice artificer you benefit from the following bonuses:

  • Gain ability of Magical Detection - naturally have ears ringing when you are near something giving off magic
  • Mental increased by 10% mental
  • +0.2 to Character Point Rate

Tier 3: Skilled Artificer

To reach this tier, you must acquire all of the skills in the create magical totem skill chain at level 2. As a skilled artificer you benefit from the following bonuses:

  • Detect increased by 10% Mental.
  • Soul increased by 10% Mental.
  • +0.2 to Character Point Rate

Tier 4: Master Artificer

To reach this tier, you must acquire all of the skills in the create magical totem skill chain at level 3. As a master artificer you benefit from the following bonuses:

  • Increase values of things created by 20%.
  • +0.2 to Character Point Rate
  • Soul increased by 10% mental
  • Mental increased by 10% mental
