Assassin

Profession: Assassin
Pay Rate: 150 shillings per game week plus hit money
Bonuses:
  • React Race Max increased by 20%.
  • Hit Chance increased by 5%
  • +5 modifier to Luck and Perceive
Penalties:
  • 10 Dark Morality Points (only a negative if wishing to play a good character)
  • Fortitude Race Max decreased by 15%
Weapon & Armor Types:
  • Assassins can use projectile weapons except guns, throwing weapons, daggers, one handed scythes, and short swords
  • Assassins can only wear light armor and cannot use shields.

Assassins are murderers for hire. They are not interested in incapacitating or disabling the enemy, they instead go right for the kill.

Assassins are a combo profession of Hunter, Thief, and Alchemist.

Requirements for Assassin

In order to open up the Assassin combo profession, you need to meet the following requirements:

  • At least level 3 of Thief Weapon Proficiency from Thief.
  • At least level 2 of Hit Targeting Empowerment from Hunter.
  • At least level 2 of Potion Administration from Alchemist.

The cost to acquire the skill depends on the level you are acquiring the skill, as well as the tier level of the skill.

Character Point Rate

Assassins pare silent killers. Perceive and React is the way to go for them.

The Assassins's character point rate is:
  • Mental x 0.01; with an additional +0.2 for every level obtained in Stealth (total of +0.8 bonus possible).
  • An assassin who gets all 4 levels of Poison Amplification gets to roll a 1d% increased by Mental as a percentage for extra character points.
  • An assassin who gets all 4 levels of Attack & Retreat gets to roll  2d% increased by Mental as a percentage for extra character points.
  • An assassin who gets at least 1 level in every assassin skill gets their End of Session Bonus as extra character points.
  • An assassin's End of Session Bonus rate is your character point rate increased by 1/2 Perceive. So if your character point rate is 1.5 and your Perceive is 60, you would take 1.5 x 30 to get 45 extra character points at the end of the session. The GM can of course reward extra character points based on role playing.

Assassination Blitz 15 Endurance Speed Check -10 to attack and attempt to kill all targets in move range using One Hit Kill. Penalty for speed check doubles per target (an additional -10 that is doubled per each additional target). Level 1: Speed Check -10; 15 Endurance

Assassin Growth

As you develop and master skills within your assassin profession, you will become a more capable assassin. Each set of skills mastered will increase your tier level in your profession, which in turn will provide you with more benefits.

Tier 1: Basic Assassin

This is the tier level you start out as. The starting bonuses listed earlier apply here.

Tier 2: Novice Assassin

To reach this tier, you must acquire all of the skills in the One Hit Kill skill chain at level 1. As a novice assassin you benefit from the following bonuses:

  • Hit Chance increased by 10% perceive.
  • Melee, Throw, & Bow power increased by 10% react.
  • +0.2 to Character Point Rate

Tier 3: Skilled Assassin

To reach this tier, you must acquire all of the skills in the One Hit Kill skill chain at level 2. As a skilled assassin you benefit from the following bonuses:

  • React increased by 10% react.
  • Perceive increased by 10% perceive.
  • +0.2 to Character Point Rate

Tier 4: Master Assassin

To reach this tier, you must acquire all of the skills in the One Hit Kill skill chain at level 3. As a master assassin you benefit from the following bonuses:

  • Hit Chance increased by 20%.
  • +0.2 to Character Point Rate
  • Hit Targeting increased by 10% react
  • Power increased by 10% react
