Pay Rate: 200 shillings per game week
Bonuses:
  • Fortitude Race Max increased by 20%.
  • Will Race Max increased by 10%
  • +5 modifier to Vitality and React
Penalties:
  • Mental Race Max decreased by 10%
  • 10 Penalty to Evade
Weapon & Armor Types:
  • Paladins can use any melee weapon with a block value.
  • Paladins can use any armor and any shield.

Paladins are the defenders of the weak, the poor, and the holy church.

Paladins are a combo profession of Guard and Cleric and require a positive morality.

Requirements for Palaidin

In order to open up the paladin combo profession, you need to meet the following requirements:

  • At least level 3 of Armor Proficiency from Guard.
  • At least level 2 of Spiritual Glow from Cleric.
  • More light morality points than dark morality points, giving you a "good" alignment.

The cost to acquire the skill depends on the level you are acquiring the skill, as well as the tier level of the skill.

Character Point Rate

Paladins are holy defenders. Fortitude and Will is the way to go for them.

The Paladin's character point rate is:
  • Mental x 0.01; with an additional +0.2 for every level obtained in Benevolent Aura (total of +0.8 bonus possible).
  • A paladin who gets all 4 levels of Spirit Guard gets to roll a 1d% increased by Mental as a percentage for extra character points.
  • A paladin who gets all 4 levels of Spirit Blessing gets to roll  2d% increased by Mental as a percentage for extra character points.
  • A paladin who gets at least 1 level in every paladin skill gets their End of Session Bonus as extra character points.
  • A paladin's End of Session Bonus rate is your character point rate increased by 1/2 Will. So if your character point rate is 1.5 and your Will is 60, you would take 1.5 x 30 to get 45 extra character points at the end of the session. The GM can of course reward extra character points based on role playing.

Benevolent Aura 6 Soul Produces a 2x2 aura around you that causes enemies in the affected area to require a will check with a 10 penalty to attack you and grants allies in the affected area a +10 to their will. Level 1: +10; 6 Soul

Divine Protection 10 Soul A holy spirit protects self and all allies for a total of 1d% damage. Level 1: 1d%; 10 Soul

Dogma N/A If the enemy targets you, the enemy must make a will check at 15% penalty to attack you instead of itself. So if the enemy's will is 100, the enemy must roll 85 or less. If they enemy's will is 25, the enemy must roll 22 or less. The penalty is doubled if the person is a servant of Taal. N/A: only one level

Paladin Growth

As you develop and master skills within your paladin profession, you will become a more capable paladin. Each set of skills mastered will increase your tier level in your profession, which in turn will provide you with more benefits.

Tier 1: Basic Paladin

This is the tier level you start out as. The starting bonuses listed earlier apply here.

Tier 2: Novice Paladin

To reach this tier, you must acquire all of the skills in the benevolent aura skill chain at level 1. As a novice paladin you benefit from the following bonuses:

  • Melee Power increased by 10% will.
  • +0.2 to Character Point Rate

Tier 3: Skilled Paladin

To reach this tier, you must acquire all of the skills in the benevolent aura skill chain at level 2. As a skilled paladin you benefit from the following bonuses:

  • Fortitude increased by 10% fortitude.
  • Vitality increased by 10% will.
  • +0.2 to Character Point Rate

Tier 4: Master Paladin

To reach this tier, you must acquire all of the skills in the benevolent aura skill chain at level 3. As a master paladin you benefit from the following bonuses:

  • React increased by 10% will.
  • +0.2 to Character Point Rate
  • Fortitude increased by 10% will
  • Vitality increased by 10% fortitude
