Pay Rate: 150 shillings per game week

Witches are practitioners of the occult and observers of nature. They use questionable means to amplify their magical power. Although they are often vilified, witches are often good souls who care about the natural and spiritual order of things.

Witches are a combo profession of Runic Mage, Cleric, and Alchemist.

Requirements for Witches

In order to open up the Witch combo profession, you need to meet the following requirements:

  • At least level 1 of Sorcery from Runic Mage.
  • At least level 1 of Spiritual Communication from Cleric.
  • At least level 2 of Mix Potions from Alchemist.

Character Point Rate

Witches pride themselves in their ability to commune with nature and the spirits. Mental and Will is the way to go for them.

The Witch's character point rate is:
  • Mental x 0.01; with an additional +0.2 for every level obtained in Divination (total of +0.8 bonus possible).
  • A witch who gets all 4 levels of Magical Components gets to roll a 1d% increased by Mental as a percentage for extra character points.
  • A witch who gets all 4 levels of Occult Aid gets to roll  2d% increased by Mental as a percentage for extra character points.
  • A witch who gets at least 1 level in every witch skill gets their End of Session Bonus as extra character points.
  • A witch's End of Session Bonus rate is your character point rate increased by 1/2 Mental. So if your character point rate is 1.5 and your Mental is 60, you would take 1.5 x 30 to get 45 extra character points at the end of the session. The GM can of course reward extra character points based on role playing.

Magical Thought 5 Soul This skill allows for wish manifestation within spell casting. Basically, the more skilled you are with this skill, the more likely it is that the spell will do something that reflects your wishes. If you want the healing spell to remove poison, for example, with this it is possible. If you want the healing spell to revive the incapacitated, it could happen. Want the basic fire spell to erupt and do double damage, possible with this. The GM can impose any penalties on top of the likelyhood of the wish happening. Level 1: 10% chance; 5 Soul

Rule of Karma N/A Witches spells are affected by the target's morality. If the spell is offensive, its damage dealt is increased by the target's opposite alignment points as a percentage. If the target has more dark points versus the witches light points or more chaos points versus the witches order points, or vice versa, you would add up any of those points and use them as a percentage to increase the spell damage. Likewise if the witch is trying to heal the target the matching alignment points will increase the healing while the opposite alignment points could decrease it. N/A

Witch Runes 4 Soul Allows for doing different things with special runes. Witch Runes are special runes written with ylem ink and an alchemical ingredient or two. The ink can be mixed with up to 3 ingredients. The runes written hold a spell that is 1/2 as powerful as being cast, however once read the spell will take effect - no matter how many times it has been read or how long ago it was written. If the runes are still readable, the spell effect and half power will take place. The effect will be empowered by the ingredients containing the ingredients effects as well in the spell. These spells will not require a casting speed, just a reading speed which can be determined by the GM based on the complexities of the spell and what is going on. Furthermore this spell will not cost any stat points. Level 1: Read Witch Runes; 4 Soul

Witch Growth

As you develop and master skills within your witch profession, you will become a more capable witch. Each set of skills mastered will increase your tier level in your profession, which in turn will provide you with more benefits.

Tier 1: Basic Witch

This is the tier level you start out as. The starting bonuses listed earlier apply here.

Tier 2: Novice Witch

To reach this tier, you must acquire all of the skills in the Potion Craft skill chain at level 1. As a novice witch you benefit from the following bonuses:

  • Runic Energy increased by 10% will.
  • Influence increased by 10% mental.
  • +0.2 to Character Point Rate

Tier 3: Skilled Witch

To reach this tier, you must acquire all of the skills in the Potion Craft skill chain at level 2. As a skilled witch you benefit from the following bonuses:

  • Resistance increased by 10% mental.
  • Runic Energy increased by 10% will.
  • +0.2 to Character Point Rate

Tier 4: Master Witch

To reach this tier, you must acquire all of the skills in the Potion Craft skill chain at level 3. As a master witch you benefit from the following bonuses:

  • Soul increased by 20% mental.
  • +0.2 to Character Point Rate
  • Runic Speed increased by 2.
