This spell is a part of the Airess spell chain and found in the Airess rune stone.
Dove Flight taught the aeromancer Zephyr's gentler side - graceful, unhurried, built for carrying someone safely rather than for striking anything. Falcon Flight is what happens when the aeromancer decides they'd rather hunt than drift. The West Wind answers this ask differently than any before it - there's no carrying an ally this time, no shared grace to offer. This gift is solitary by nature, meant for one set of wings and no others.
Lifted into flight this way, the aeromancer moves at four times their normal pace and climbs as high as 200 feet - 67 spaces - above the ground, far higher and far faster than Dove Flight ever reached. But height was never really the point. The real gift is the dive: from any altitude, the aeromancer can drop the full 200 feet in a single instant, a stoop faster than anything without wings has any right to manage, closing distance a falcon's prey never sees coming until it's already too late. Unlike its gentler predecessor, this flight doesn't ask the aeromancer to choose between staying airborne and fighting - a blade drawn or a spell cast mid-dive is exactly the kind of moment this gift was built for.
It was never going to stay a dove's trick forever. Some aeromancers reach for the sky just to see it. Others reach for it because something down below needs catching.
