Armor is very vital to the survival of your character, yet mistakenly it is often chosen after spending a great deal of money on the best weapons. It is strongly advised that you make armor your top priority as a good set of armor can mean the difference between life and death. It is armor that protects your character against powerful attacks, and the better your armor is, the less of an attack you will feel.
When deciding on armor you want to look out for these key factors; PR , MR, Weight , Other Information , and Cost .
PR: Armor provides what is called PR, that is Physical Resistance. The better the armor and the more armor that you have equipped, the better your total PR will be. As your armor takes damage however, its PR will drop, thus being able to protect against less damage. Your armor's PR stacks on top of any other item that is equipped and has a PR, giving you a larger total PR. Only armor has a PR. If you are equipping any item that has a PR, you would record it in the appropriate PR field.
MR: Armor provides what is called MR, that is Magic Resistance. The better the armor and the more armor that you have equipped, the better your total MR will be. As your armor takes magic damage however, its MR will drop, thus being able to protect against less magic damage. If you are equipping any item that has a MR, you would record it in the appropriate MR field.
- Block or Defense: Shields provide a block value that you can use with the skill Block or Magic Block to block some damage. Other pieces of armor might have a Defense Value. Defense value gives you a natural PR or MR when using Defense or Magic Defense skills.
Weight: This shows how much the armor weighs. You need to be careful not to exceed your character's carry limit. All armor is made for your character's size, but for gaming simplicity, the weight of the armor will be the same.
Other Information: This shows any other important information that you need to take into account when buying armor. For example, some armor makes it harder to sneak, so if you are playing a rogue like character, you may want to avoid that armor.
Cost: This shows how much the armor costs. It is important to keep cost in mind because you are likely going to need to buy other things besides just armor. Spending all of your money on armor without buying any rations, potions, or a weapon is just as bad of an idea as not buying any armor at all.
1. Attaching and Removing Rune Stones
The blacksmith of any armor dealer will be happy to attach any rune stone that you provide to any armor you already own at the cost of §50.00 . Similarly the blacksmith will remove any rune stone from any armor that you own at the cost of §50.00. You will get to keep the removed rune stone. You can only attach 1 rune stone per piece of armor.
2. Repairing Armor
The local blacksmith will be glad to repair your character's armor for a cost. The cost is 65% of the item's original cost of the item you wish repaired.
3. Equipping Armor
Equipping armor is very similar to equipping weapons, you just fill in the information needed. If the armor has any modifications, you need to add their effects to your character's armor, and try to put the modifications in the armor's name some how. The difference with armor and weapons is that you will need to get a total of your armor's PR, MR, and Weight. The total PR and MR should also be recorded on the front of your character sheet, in the Armor Stats section.
