This spell is a part of the Airess spell chain and can be found in the Airess rune stone.
It has often been said that aeromancers do not cast spells, they play with the wind itself. It is a saying that has proven true more than once, even in the case of young neophyte aeromancers who are just now learning to connect and communicate with their runic soul. But not every spell is a chance for the fun loving aeromancer to toy with the currents of the air. Sometimes they truly desire to protect their friends.
Seeing the threat around them, the young aeromancer, for at least a moment, lets go of their fun loving side and bears a serious look. They have heard the voice within them before, the gentle whispers of the spirit of the West Wind - a force that the druids call Zephyr, yet the neophyte only knows as "The Protector". The West Wind knows well what the young aeromancer wants to ask for, even if the aeromancer has yet to find the right words - protection. Whether it be for the aeromancer themself or one of their allies, the West Wind acknowledges and complies. Like a comforting blanket, the air settles closely around the protected target, promising that whatever attack is dealt, it will not be felt fully. When the blow finally comes, the West Wind slips in between the protected and the attack at just the right moment, softening the impact by a fifth (20%) before slipping away entirely. The promise was kept. The favor was done. The West Wind returns to the runic soul of the young aeromancer where it awaits its next charge, satisfied by the pleasing and amusing grin of the relieved aeromancer.
