This spell is a part of the Airess spell chain and found in the Airess rune stone.
This manipulation gifts unto you the ability of graceful flight. You cannot attack or cast spells while flying. You cannot do much more than pick things up or move around in the air. You can move at triple your movement rate and can fly up to 4 stories or 40 feet high.
Levitate taught the aeromancer that Zephyr was willing to hold them steady in open air, asking for nothing in return but the asking. It didn't take long for the aeromancer to want more than stillness. If the West Wind could hold a body up, could she not also carry it somewhere? Zephyr's answer came gently, the way everything she gives tends to - not a burst of speed, not anything fierce, just the same unhurried grace a dove keeps in flight, wingbeats too soft to seem like effort at all.
Lifted and carried this way, the aeromancer moves through open air at three times their normal pace, rising as high as four stories - forty feet - above the ground, with all the same ease a dove shows drifting between rooftops. The grace comes with a trade, though: both of the aeromancer's hands and their attention are given over entirely to staying aloft, leaving no room for swinging a weapon or shaping a spell mid-flight. They can still reach down to snatch something up, or simply drift wherever the moment calls for, but nothing more demanding than that. The flight lasts only as long as there's ground left to have covered - once that reserve of movement runs out, so does Zephyr's grace, gently, the way it always does.
It's not built for a fight. It was never meant to be. Some gifts from the West Wind are for getting somewhere - not for what happens once you've arrived.
