This spell is a part of the Airess spell chain and can be found in the Airess rune stone.
The West Wind is often seen as the gentle wind. Many forget however that the West Wind is the wind of change, and the wind has fangs. A spell often misinterpreted as originating from the Tornado, Funnel of Power is the fangs of the West Wind giving strength to the enhanced target.Â
The aeromancer gathers the West Wind close around a chosen weapon and funnels all of it down into that single narrow edge, the way a wide river forced through a narrow channel runs faster and stronger for the squeeze. Every strike the weapon lands afterward carries that funneled current with it: an extra 1d20 points of damage on the hit, and enough force behind the blow to knock the struck target clean off their feet. The wind stays visible the whole time it holds, a faint swirl clinging to whatever part of the blade actually connects - not for show, though it does happen to look the part. It works on any melee weapon in a hand willing to swing it - the aeromancer's own, or an ally's, entrusted to carry it instead - though a wind funneled this tight has no patience for anything meant to be thrown or fired. Only something held close, all the way to the moment of impact, can carry the current that far.
Where Wind Guardian was the aeromancer asking the wind to hold everything back, Funnel of Power is the same wind asked to let everything through, all at once, at the very last inch before it lands. It is not a show of the Tornado's strength. It is a show of the West Wind's fangs.Â
