This spell is a part of the Spiritual Link spell chain and can be found in the Spiritual Link rune stone.
Having just witnessed and made the miracle of resurrection, the animancer feels something stir within them - a boldness, a certainty that they have never felt before. In this moment, riding the weight of what they have just accomplished, they do something no animancer does lightly. They call not upon the Spirit of Life, but upon the Soul of Life directly. Why the animancer calls upon the Soul of Life no one truly knows. Perhaps the animancer wants to grant more power to the one just resurrected? Perhaps something else. What matters here is that the Soul itself doesn't care, nor does it ask. Instead, The Soul answers. It settles over the battlefield like a held breath, looks at the one who was just brought back, looks at the animancer, and then it passes judgment.
The target rolls 1d6. The animancer rolls 1d100. The Soul judges both simultaneously, impartially, without malice or mercy.
The target's judgment:
- 1 — The Soul finds the target worthy of the second chance given them (or simply worthy). Their Vitality doubles.
- 2 — The target loses 20% of their current Vitality.
- 3 — 30%.
- 4 — 40%.
- 5 — 50%.
- 6 — The Soul finds the target unworthy of the miracle spent on them (or simply unworthy). The target dies.
The animancer's judgment:
- 001 — The Soul finds the animancer extraordinary. All of the animancer's vital stats double for the remainder of the battle.
- 100 — The Soul finds the animancer unworthy of the power they wield. The animancer dies.
- Anything else — The Soul says nothing. It simply leaves.
The animancer never knows what the Soul is looking for. No one does. That is the nature of judgment.Â
Important Note: This spell does not require the casting of Miracle Summoning to work. The animancer can choose to cast this spell on themself and a friend or themself and an enemy. The results are however the same.Â
