Instrument Bonuses and the Musical Instruments Ability: Each instrument provides a base bonus when equipped. The Musical Instruments ability further increases that bonus by your Perform trait score. Instruments do not increase Perform itself. You receive the base profession bonus of +1 to Perform simply for having an instrument equipped, regardless of ability, as long as your profession is Entertainer.

Performance Costumes
A performer's appearance is part of the performance. The right costume commands attention, sets the mood, and can mean the difference between a polite smattering of applause and a roaring crowd. Performance costumes are equipped as Relics. They do not count as armor and do not provide physical or magical protection, but they do provide the profession bonuses depending upon the costume. A character can only benefit from one equipped costume at a time.

Performance Props
Props are the tools of the trade for entertainers who work beyond pure music and dance such as jugglers, acrobats, illusionists, fire performers, and stage actors. A juggler's clubs do nothing for a singer, but in the hands of a juggler making a Perform check, they may grant a bonus. Work with your GM to determine when a prop is relevant.

Sheet Music & Songbooks
Sheet music stores a specific song, performance piece, or routine. Unlike spell scrolls, sheet music is not consumed on use. Sheet Music can be referenced as many times as needed, provided the performer has it in hand and can read it. Sheet music is specific to a skill or song type and only provides its bonus when used with an appropriate skill.
A Songbook collects multiple pieces of sheet music into a single bound volume. Carrying a songbook counts as carrying all sheet music within it, but takes up a single inventory space.
