Bows and arrows follow their own crafting logic, separate from the Blacksmith's blade-and-handle system. A bow has no blade and no true grip in the way a sword does. It is a frame that stores and releases energy. Its ammunition is a compound build in its own right, assembled from four independent parts (Stock, Tip, Point Type, and Fletching) rather than a single blade-plus-handle pairing. This section covers both.

Bow Frame

Attack is drawn from a chosen Bow Material (the same shared material table used everywhere else in Blacksmith Crafting), and Frame tier determines how that material's attack die is modified. A stiffer frame delivers more force but sacrifices reach while a more flexible frame gives up power for range. Min Distance represents the room an arrow needs to leave the bow before it can be fired effectively; shooting inside that range still works for the skilled archer, it simply can't benefit from Bow Power (see the Point Blank ability for the one exception).

Basic tier reproduces Small Bow as a fully buildable option rather than a fixed shop item — any material can now sit at Basic for a lightweight, budget bow.

Arrow Crafting

Arrow Crafting is divided into the following sections: Stock, Tip, Point Type, and Fletching.

Arrow Stock

The shaft of the arrow which determines Weight and carries the chosen material's full inherent effects (elemental resonance, special traits like Oak's flammability, Black Maple's Soul-on-hit, etc.). The shaft contributes nothing to Attack or Range. Pick from the shared material table.

The basic stock design has a base weight of 0.1 and a base cost of 0.05.

Arrow Head

The head which determines Attack, drawn from the same shared material table as Arrow Stock as well as that material's own effects, same rule as above. An arrow head of the same material as the arrow stock does not "double up" on the material effects, only one carries forward. You can however have an arrow head of a different material than the arrow stock and gain the material effects from both materials.

Basic Arrow Head Stats

A basic arrow head provides +2 to attack, has a base weight of 0.2, and a base cost of 0.10.

Arrow Head Material

Head Type

Combines with Arrow Head material as a pure special-effect enhancement. None of these modify Attack.

Fletching

Governs Range and accuracy showing how far and how true an arrow flies. Fletching affects nothing else. The range value is the same whether the arrow is fired from a bow or thrown by hand. If thrown by hand, add Throw Range. If fired by a bow, add bow range.

Minor Projectile Weapons

These are the minor projectile weapons that do not fit in other categories.
