Shields

Table of Contents

  1. Bucklers
  2. Kite Shields
  3. Tower Shields

Shields are basically pieces of material made flat or slightly curved which you hold in front of you to help soak damage. There are several types and sizes of shields. Shields are used with your off hand and therefore cannot be used while duel wielding or using a two-handed weapon, the exception being with bucklers if you have the arm strap modifier applied to it. Shields are used in the defensive stance, giving you automatic increase to your defense and spirit defense stats as long as you are in a defensive stance. If you use a block skill, you get to apply the shield's block value before the damage reaches you.

2) Kite Shields

A kite shield is a large, almond-shaped shield rounded at the top and curving down to a point or rounded point at the bottom held in your non-dominate hand.
